Violins Made by William Scott (Call for Prices) |
2017 Guarneri del Gesu Model
This instrument is patterned after a Giuseppi Guarneri del Gesu violin known as the "Lord Wilton". It is a very popular model, made by many of my colleagues, because of it's successful sound and playability qualities. Guarneri del Gesu violins have a reputation for slightly a easier and forgiving playability factor. Traditionally, Stradivari violins can be a bit more temperamental, albeit with a lot of color and tonal possibilities. Body length is slightly shorter than my Stradivari models.

2018 Dominico Montagnana Model
This instrument is patterned after a beautiful 1717 D. Montagnana violin. My first example of this model was made in 2017 for the 300th Anniversary of the original, which was used for it inspiration. Slight changes have been implimented from the original to accomodate modern demands for sound, playability. I will have links to the original which you can look at soon.

Violas made by William Scott (Call for Prices) |
Violas: Scott Studios Workshop ($10,000-15,000) |
2018 Gasparo da Salo Workshop Model
This instrument is patterned after violas by the famous Brescian maker, Gasparo da Salo. An area just north of the famous Italian violin-maker's town of Cremona. This instrument is just 15 5/8" long with moderate width proportions. String length is very accommodating to smaller hands, just over 14" (363 mm.). Because of it's arch and f-hole design, this model produces a very appealling viola sound, in spite of it's smaller size. Another model of the same design is around 16" long with a slightly longer string length. None are available at the moment, but should be within the next 3-6 months.

Cellos made by William Scott (Call for Price) |
2016 William Robert Scott
The design of this instrument is inspired by a French violin maker, Frank Ravitin, who used the wider body outline of Ruggeri and incorporated elements of Antonio Stradivari. This model was introduced at Oberlin Violin Making Workshop years ago and have been successfully used by colleagues and me.
String length is very reasonable at 17 1/8" (690 mm.) This is shorter than most Stradivari models.
